A PetSmart Charities Grant for SNAP
In the Fall of 2018, we had a great opportunity to apply for and receive a grant from PetSmart Charities. SNAP worked together with the representatives of PetSmart Charities, Mendocino County Animal Care Services, and The Native American Humane Society for a grant to spay and neuter 255 animals owned by residents of the 8 reservations of Mendocino County. We will add this ambitious project on top of all the other endeavors we do to continue to increase our ability to provide services to more pets belonging to the residents of our county. The Care-a-Van will add extra travel days to the out-lying reservations and the shelter clinic will provide extra surgery days to the inland valley tribes. We have made contacts with the local tribal leaders who will help us make sure all residents of the reservations are made aware of the help that will be available to them.
